Hikashop – Bipbip

No more product mix-up, Eliminate Errors, Boost Efficiency, and Delight Your Customers

What is Bipbip?

Bipbip is there to help you check that the products you put in the box are the ones in the order.

Bipbip is a tool that functions a bit like a cash register, where each item is scanned one by one. If a scanned item doesn’t belong to the order, an alert immediately notifies the user. Similarly, if a product is scanned multiple times, an alert will be triggered. With Bipbip, you can achieve seamless order preparation and eliminate the risk of mistakes.

Say goodbye to forgotten items or product mix-ups. With Bipbip, the entire order is scanned until completion, and a confirmation message appears, signaling that all items have been accounted for. Simply close the box and ship the order with confidence. Our plugin ensures a streamlined process, allowing you to avoid errors and maintain impeccable order accuracy.

Enhance your order fulfillment operations with Bipbip and experience the peace of mind that comes from knowing your packages are prepared flawlessly. Say hello to efficient shipping and satisfied customers with Bipbip by your side.

Guides & FAQ

Working with labels

There are three ways of ‘scanning’ a product in Bipbip.

  1. Enter the product code or name by hand in the scan field… not very practical.
  2. Click on the “Manual Check” button in the product list. It’s quick but it’s not very interesting because you have to visually check that your product is the right one.
  3. Scan a label stuck on the product, this is the most efficient way to use Bipbip.

    There are two possible scenarios

    1. Your product already has a barcode on its label
In this case, if the value of your barcode matches the value of the “code” field in the product’s Hikashop form, you don’t need to do anything. Bipbip will recognise your product as soon as you scan the barcode (or qrcode). If, on the other hand, the “Code” field in your Hikashop product form contains a different value to the value of the barcode on your product label, you will need to follow the following steps:

      • In Hikashop administration, go to “Custom fields”. Here is an example of the settings shown. You can give the field a different name, but we advise you to use a name that makes sense.
      • In the administration of the Bipbip plugin, in the “Additional check on” field, select the custom field you’ve just created and save.
      • Edit all the Hikashop product sheets to enter the correct value. In other words, the value shown on your label.
    2. Your product doesn’t have a barcode In this case, you’ll need to generate labels to stick on your products. The easiest way to do this is to export your products using Hikashop’s “MassAction” tool. We advise you to export to a CSV or Table file (Excel, etc.) with the name of the product and the product code.
You can then use the file to generate a label with a barcode. This can be done using Excel, for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOLDS5vo79I

About the scanner
It is advisable to use a USB scanner. Get the right scanner to work with the type of barcode or QRCode on your product labels. Also pay attention to the configuration of your scanner. Scanners are often sold with a small software package that can be used to configure the scanner so that it returns scanned values correctly.

Add sounds

1. Get sounds files

By default, Bipbip is not delivered with sound files. We suggest that you obtain your own. There are free resources of this type on the Internet.

Here are the criteria to take into account when choosing sounds:

  • Very short: one second or two seconds maximum.
  • In MP3 format
  • Meaningful, especially for the sound intended to inform you of an error. Choose something that will catch your attention.
  • Here’s a link to a sound catalogue that matches these criteria: https://mixkit.co/free-sound-effects/interface/

2. Upload files to the correct folder

When it was installed, Bipbip normally created a folder called “bipbip-sounds” in your “/images” folder. If you go to the Joomla media manager you should find this folder. If you don’t, don’t hesitate to create it by hand, respecting the name indicated: “bipbip-sound”.

Upload your selected sound files to this folder. You can use the Joomla media manager if the settings allow you to send this type of file. If not, you can use FTP software.

3. Assign sounds

Go to the Bipbip plugin administration and go in the “Sounds” tab.
You can then use the drop-down fields to choose which sounds to use in which situations.
